The Beach - Bournemouth & Poole Bay
A three minute walk down leafy Clifton Road and you will be at the top of the cliff looking out across the English Channel and tracing the little ships bobbing across the horizon. Another three minutes walk down one of the zigzag paths, and you are onto the golden sand which stretches for seven glorious sun-kissed miles.

Blue Flag Beach Southbourne is a lovely quiet section of the Bournemouth & Poole Bay, which has been awarded one of Europe's coveted Blue Flags for cleanliness. During the summer there are life guards, public showers & toilets, beach cleansing every day and a dog ban - all making it a very safe family environment in which kids may play and parents needn't worry about them. Checkout what the weather and surf is like now.
Everybody needs one!
We have our own Beach Hut nestling among the multitude of multicoloured huts at the top of the beach. Guests may share this space for their beach gear and use it to change after a swim.

If you fancy a walk, beach lovers will revel in all the activities and facilities available on the main seafront. A packed events calendar means you are likely to come across half marathons, international volleyball competitions and powerboating events whilst walking the prom. If walking is not your thing you can also take the Land Train which runs services the length of the beach and make use of the cliff lift to & from the beach from nearby Fisherman's Walk.

On the overcliff, there are many nooks and crannies with benches to break up a walk or to read a book. Children will also enjoy the wide open lawns to play games, and the children's play areas and crazy golf. Several Cafe's will provide the obligatory ice cream or afternoon tea with a sea view.
